Alpha

Being the first letter in the greek alphabet, alpha is often used to refer to a beginning, something that is new or that came first. Sometimes it even describes social hierarchies, keyword alpha male ;)
I named this painting “Alpha” because it represents a lot of new beginnings for me. I have never painted on a bigger canvas than this one. It was my first time mixing paint from pigments instead of using ready-made acrylics. And it’s a completely new style in my repertoire, very energetic and powerful, and that’s what it makes me feel when I look at it.
